Percussion Supplies
Must Have: Bell kit and snare pad with stand (usually rented from Muncie Music) Wessels Snare and Mallet Books: $31.90 (included with rental)
Students must have the following sticks and mallets, along with a mallet bag. You can purchase these items on your own, or we offer the option of purchasing them all together through Muncie Music:
Innovative Percussion SD-1 snare sticks: $8 Innovative Percussion IP-900 xylophone/bell mallets: $20 Innovative Percussion T-1 timpani mallets: $24 Innovative Percussion IP-300 marimba mallets: $30 Mallet/Stick Bag: $20 Total: $102 (if purchased on your own)
If your student wants to purchase the entire mallet/stick bag with all mallets and sticks included from Muncie Music, he/she can bring us a check for $70 and we will place the order for you. Mallet/Stick bag from Muncie Music $70 (He gives us a price break on this.)
Metronome for home practice: $5-$10 at any music store (optional)
It seems expensive up front to purchase the mallet/stick bag containing all the mallets. However, as long as the students take care of them, these mallets should last the entire year and even into high school. The high school students use the same quality mallets. Also, after the beginning band year, percussionists are no longer required to rent an instrument. The school provides all of their instruments after the first year, so it becomes much less expensive to be a percussionist after the first year. |
